Android Versions Named After Sweet

Have you ever thought why are Android versions always named after sweet names ??

Everytime a new Android version is launched its name is kept after a sweet name. Many people have researched about this topic and many have asked Google also. Have you ever tried to find out the core reason behind this? If not then you would find the answer here .

First of all let us first see what Google says about this :

In 2008 i.e. the year when Android was launched a reporter asked the reason for the same. At that time Google said

“It’s kind of like an internal team thing, and we prefer to be a little bit — how should I say — a bit inscrutable in the matter, I’ll say,” said Randall Sarafa, a Google spokesman. “The obvious thing is that, yeah, the Android platform releases, they go by dessert names and by alphabetical order for the most part."

After this in 2013 once again Google answered such question by saying

Android is the operating system that powers over 1 billion smartphones and tablets. Since these devices make our lives so sweet, each Android version is named after a dessert "

Still there were many researches going on and a lot of people had different opinions .

Some believed that as Android was developed Andy Rubin an ex- employee in Apple where his colleagues gave him the name of Android because of his love for robots. He also loved sweets more than anything in the world. So all the Android version names are kept after sweet or dessert names in the memory of its founder.

One more reason for the naming is that Google wanted to attract users by giving out some catchy names. And they thought Sweet names would be perfect. Google also didn't wanted to indulge in cases regarding patents and stuff like that so it kept sweet names as it believed most of the people don't think about these names and it will be unique too. Google has always named the versions in an alphabetical order which also gives it an uniqueness.

Although Google has still not mentioned the true reason but many are busy finding it, we will soon be able to know the true reason. Till that time enjoy reading our articles at High School Pedia . Leviation

LEVITATION You know the classic magician’s trick in which he makes something or somebody levitate? Yeah well, it isn’t magic (obviously!). In fact, there are over 8 different ways in which he can make something levitate. As a side note though, all of the following methods are fairly complicated. In all honesty what he actually probably does is hang the “thing” by a string. You got conned… What is Levitation? Levitation is flying’s younger brother who was ignored when his elder brother became possible. It’s a sad story… Though in all seriousness levitation and flying are different. So please don’t be a jerk and post a comment saying, “Hey you relic! Levitation is already happening. Have you never sat in a plane before?!” Levitation is (according to Google) and I quote “the action of rising or causing something to rise and hover in the air, typically by means of supposed magical powers.” Way to go Google! I thought we already cleared up that fact that magic isn’t rea...

Animal and Plant Cells

Cells Cells are the basic functional, biological and structural unit of life. The word cell is a Latin word meaning ‘small room’. Cells are also known as building blocks of life.  The branch of science that deals with the form, structure, and composition of a cell is known as Cytology. All organisms around us are made up of cells. Bacteria, ameba, paramecium, algae, fungi, plants and animals are made up of cells.  Cells together form tissues. And tissue together makes an organ. History Of Cell The cell was discovered by Robert Hooke in 1665. He assembled a simple microscope and observed a very thin slice of cork under his primitive microscope. The cork was obtained from the outer covering of a tree called bark. Robert Hooke observed many little-partitioned boxes or compartments in the cork slice. These boxes appeared like a honey-comb. He termed these boxes as the cell. He also noticed that one box was separated from another by a wa...

Isotopes, Isobars and Isotones

Isotopes These are elements which have the same atomic number but different atomic mass . They have the same atomic number because the number of protons that are inside their nuclei remains the same. But, they have different atomic mass because the number of neutrons that are also inside their nuclei is different. As the number of protons inside nuclei remains same, therefore the overall charge of the elements also remains same as in isotopes: no of protons = no of electrons . Hence, as isotopes overall charge remains neutral, therefore their chemical properties will also remain identical.   Therefore, Isotopes are chemically same but physically different.

Important Mathematical Constants!

Important Mathematical Constants Mathematical constants are those numbers that are special and interesting because they come up in the various fields of mathematics like geometry, calculus etc. These mathematical constants are usually named after the person who discovered it and they are represented by a symbol that is usually picked up from the Greek alphabet. Mathematical constants are by definition very important. In this article we will take a look at certain mathematical constants that are more commonplace than others. 1.       π (pi) or Archimedes constant (~3.14159):   π is defined as the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. This is probably the most popular mathematical constant. So π is the circumference of the circle whose diameter is 1 unit. You might have seen it popping up when calculating the area of a circle (πr 2 ) or the circumference of a circle (2πr). It has many uses throughout mathematics from calcula...

Levitation 3

LEVITATION III Don’t worry no puns this time. And for the final part of this “levitating series”, I bring to you the coolest ideas! They are both scientific and super geeky effects that nobody ever teaches you because they believe that these effects are useless.  But fortunately for you our site exists and we believe in bringing out the cool aspects of science so be prepared to be enlightened and rise (Get it?! That was the last one. Promise. For real this time) to attain scientific nirvana with: Meissner Effect This also has to do with magnets. I am sorry. But I promise this will be cool. This method involves a dipolar magnet on top of a superconducting substance. What essentially happens is that when a substance becomes superconducting, that is, it has no electrical resistance whatsoever, all magnetic field through it get expulsed (removed). At the same time, eddy currents (What are eddy currents? Trust me, you do not want to know. They are some weird quantum thi...
